9.9 is as high as the gradient can measure. Anything higher than that is immeasurable by the current gradient system. Those who possess that level of skill are known as Cardinals, and you can recognize them on sight, as they possess distinctive eyes: pure black with white speckles, like stars in a night sky.

Cardinals are extremely rare.

We classify ours by designation as well, though some classifications have subdesignations, or rare designations that fit within that group.

I can't say I've ever looked into the etymology of the word, but though Psy are mostly atheist today, I believe the word derives more from the religious connotation than the small bird.

I'm not a an M-Psy. I do not judge abilities to rank on the gradient.
